I Am So Alone
8 1/2 x 11" broadside. Letterpress printed on cardstock in three colors. Inspired by an April 2009 issue of Us Magazine featuring an interview with Lindsay Lohan, this short story and its presentation both recreate the planet inside the actress's head: pastel and infantile -- part of her tragedy, of course, is that she was a child star. This planet's surface is made of an unstable cobble of balloons and at its heart is a cherry pit. The text block is destabilized by varying the leading, pinks and whites are layered to create a soda-shop feel, and bits of punctuation suggest those waxy chips found in mint-chocolate chip ice cream.
